Color, Wear It!
Friends! Finally I have brought another aspect of this blog to life that last year was just a dream. I added the category months ago…under the heading of Color: Wear It. Maybe it would seem sort of silly that this was just a dream, but I am going to turn sixty this year and I would have never thought back in my 20s that I would be interested in fashion, let alone still be wearing cute things by designers. That also means this post contains Affiliate Links and I will receive a small commission if you click through, I thank you for that in advance.
I am inspired by my Mom, who is going to be 91 this year and still dresses like a fashion plate with earrings and necklaces and rings…she did have to start wearing only “sensible” shoes this past year because she is not as sure in heels any longer.
When I was a little girl, I thought there were rules about aging.
#1 after you get married or turn 25 which ever comes first, you have to wear your heart in a super short style.
#2 after a “certain age” (I really don’t know what it was) you just don’t wear a dress above your knee
#3 when you became a grandma you wore long cotton dresses and you kind of had no discernible shape and somehow you now had long hair that you never let anyone see because it was tied into a knot.
I totally remember when the news announced that Farrah Faucet was turning 50 and she still had her signature hair style! I thought, wow! I can wear my hair long as I age. Honestly if you look at a photo of me when I was in my 30s, I look so much younger now!
So with all that said…I hope you enjoy this new aspect of my blog where I pull together looks I love for any age that wants to be stylish and have fun.
Sassy Style by Kate
Pop your ears with COLOR in these dreamy designed drop earrings by Kate Spade
It’s no accident, I did pick a matchy, matchy purse but ooooh, I just love them together.
You can’t be down in these very happy culottes. Perfect for a day out on the town.
Ignore the bottom, this is all about the cute little scalloped top, so versatile and also by Kate Spade.
Sensible for the city? Probably not. Fabulous? Definitely. Strappy heeled toe shoe by Kate.
But just in case I have not convinced you…here is another option you could look divine in and walk for blocks and blocks!
It really is in the details and these shoes have them in Spades (Ha!). Ankle strap, tear drop cutouts and the embroidery floral on the toe, just brings it all together for a really polished finish on your feet.
A Few Special Accessories!
What a special phone case! A pocket for your ID and Credit card and the scalloped edge is totally fab!
Simple, Classic and really functional. Kate Spade shades.
This girl knows ME! I already have her perfume “Twirl” because that is so me, but come on…this is my tagline on my new blog theme and has been on my FB page…”Live Color Fully” so it has to be great!
Hope you don’t miss that adorable little bow for winding! Laaa scious Pink Watch by Kate.
A little leather wallet for a few cards and some change is all you need!
The very last thing I would choose for this look is a great hat to keep the sun off my face.
This is the only piece that was not designed by Kate. This little straw hat is designed by Helen Kaminski and is the perfect size to shade your face and would look great with any hairstyle and any face!
Would you love to wear this on a shopping day in the city? Would you feel happy and confident? I believe this suites many sizes and ages and is a polished yet free spirited day attire.
I would love your feedback. Do you like this new addition? Does it inspire you to try a little color in your wardrobe? I promise in time I will put my own photos in, I just am not great at selfies and I forget to ask to have my photo taken when I have something I think you might enjoy “shopping the look” over.
One More Thing
There is also a second aspect of this new part of my blog that is a dream. After taking time off from about 18 months blogging, I was pretty discouraged that I had made zero income from my blog. I know it surprises people that don’t blog that you can actually make a living doing this but you totally can. Revenue is generated from ads on the side of our blogs or from text links within, from things we actually make and sell like an e-book or putting collections together like I have done here. I also daily UPDATE my new shopping page RETAIL THERAPY, so check it out whenever you need a little. Seriously, I will be adding unique and fun items great for gifts or yourself and the prices will be from under $10 to maybe over $1k! You never know who might be shopping.
So, I am giving it a go and hoping I will realize the dream that I can actually make my living as a writer, decorator, fashionista, creative and influencer! Thank you for letting me have that chance with you!
Have the most fabulous and colorful day!
